How to Make Spanish Fried Eggs

Making these amazing Spanish eggs is no rocket science just few easy simple steps if done right can deliver the best fried eggs you have ever tasted. The trick and amount of time you put into making these eggs is the only thing that can make or break the recipe. So here is what you need to do:

Serving Size: 1 person

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Required Ingredients:

  • 1-2 Eggs
  • 3 Tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (enough to give an inch depth for frying)
  • Salt and pepper (optional)

Method:

  1. Crack your egg/eggs into a separate mug.
  2. Take a heavy skillet or stainless steel cookware and heat about one inch of olive oil, heat the oil on medium to high heat until the oil is very hot and begins to smoke.
  3. Using olive oil is a must if you wish to attain the required texture as I was unable to attain the same texture using coconut oil or even butter as some recipes suggested, also ensure the oil temperature is up to the mark.
  4. Now carefully slip your eggs into the oil and reduce the flame to medium low.
  5. Spoon some oil over the top of the egg as it cooks for maximum one and a half minutes.
  6. Run a metal spatula from underneath the egg while it cooks to keep it from sticking.
  7. Remove the egg immediately once the edges of the egg become brown and crispy and the white is all puffed up with a jiggly egg yolk.
  8. Sprinkle some salt over your egg and even some freshly ground pepper if you like and consume immediately to enjoy the perfect texture and taste.
